Location: Yungay province in Ancash, Peru.
The film delves into the aftermath of the Yungay landslide, a tragic event that struck Peru on May 31, 1970, when a massive rock and ice avalanche destroyed the town and claimed approximately 20,000 lives. The story centers on a young boy who survived the disaster but lost his friends in the catastrophe. Guided by the ghosts of his deceased friends, the now-adult survivor petitions the local government to document and tell his story. Through this narrative, the film poignantly addresses the personal and collective impact of the disaster, emphasizing the significance of preserving memory and honoring the victims' stories.
The film is currently under postproduction and will be released in 2025.
